What a Christmas! We had such a good time this year. We just had Nate on Christmas morning this year. The older boys came at 2:00 p.m.
I woke up just a little before 7:30, I went to check on Nate. I was really surprised he had not woke up yet, because he was so excited this year. Just as I walked into his room he was rubbing his eyes, just waking up. Within a split second he realized that it was Christmas morning. His eyes popped open faster than you could imagine and his whole body started to shake as he said "Santa, Santa." He ran and jumped in my arms and said "run Mom, go see if Santa came!" So we ran! Right to the banister we could clearly see the stockings & gifts! We proceeded down the stairs and just as we got to the bottom he literally jumped out of my arms and ran to the couch. I wish more than anything I would have gone to get the camera before I went to his room. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. I still can't stop smiling. Once we rounded up Steve from out front shoveling snow we proceeded back to the goods! Nate was so excited he could not even see the presents from Santa! He went straight to the Christmas tree and sat down. He said "ok Mom which ones mine?" We then encouraged him to open gifts from Santa. He tore through those and wanted everyone opened as he opened them. He could not believe that Santa knew just what he liked! We never stopped smiling as he continued to open all his gifts. I think he got more excited with every one! He will probably still tell you that everything he got was from Santa! We had so much fun with him this year. Nate is the perfect age to bring the excitement of Santa! It has been a few years at our house since the older boys have been this excited.
Just as I got things picked up & Nate had settled down a bit here came the older boys! Grandma Rae Mi & Grandpa Rex came over. We also had Grandma Arlene & Grandpa Big Guy on the web cam to watch! Scott tore right through his gifts not giving one thought to recycling the paper! (don't worry we were not trying to recycle) Rich was a little more conservative. They enjoyed each gift and it was fun to see them with each surprise. This year was a first for them that they had not really given us a wish list. Steve got an idea for each of them that they did not even expect! It was great to have surprises again! Scott got a remote control helicopter. Rich a remote control electric car. They all also got video games and other fun toys. We are so grateful to have each of our boys they each add so much to our family.
We made Steve's traditional Christmas Cookies...YUM!
Christmas Morning....
Nate was so surprised with his Catfish from Santa. He did not think Santa even knew what a catfish was!
Can you tell he was a little excited?
I think the exact words were "Sweet!"
Rich is not a man of many words but his expressions say it all!
