A peek into Max's first week of life....

Forgive me for posting these so long after the fact, they were on Steve's camera & I just got them onto my computer.

Max & Mom before being admitted into the NICU.

Max in the NICU. Poor baby had so many cords it was hard to even hold him.

I went down to the hospital every three hours for feedings. He had every other feeding for 4 days through a tube placed in his nose. He couldn't come home until he could eat enough by mouth each feeding and remember to keep breathing at the same time!

Dad's finger Max's hand

He advanced himself to all oral feedings when he ripped out the feeding tube for the second time! They thought they would let him try because they hated to put it back in. And it worked he then took enough every feeding to finally come home!

You can see his poor little face where the tube was taped down. OUCH! This was the second time. The first tube was on the other side of his face.

Finally going home after 7 days in the hospital!!!

.....And we are home!

Nate was so excited we could barely get in the door and out of his car seat. Nate wanted to hold him so bad. All he could do is giggle!

Thanks to everyone who helped out while I was on bed rest and while we were going back and forth to the hospital. We appreciate every ones help and all of your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful to have our sweet little Maxwell home.

I'm so glad everything is going well. That is so hard to have him at the hospital so long. Call me when you are up for lunch.
